Terms of Use of the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service

Use of the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service is subject to the terms and conditions below. By using the service, you agree to these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Usage Rights

You are granted the non-exclusive right to use the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service in accordance with these terms. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

2. Function Overview

Codebarista Cloud Upload is a service for uploading and providing files for access and download by authorized users.

Additionally, if technically feasible, preview thumbnails are generated to provide a quick overview of the contents.

To use Cloud Upload, you need an API key. We issue an API key for your usage.

The API key is used to issue upload tokens necessary for uploading files. This allows all uploaded files to be associated with your account.

Your Quota

The size of the available quota for the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service depends on the specific agreements through which you gained access.

Typically, unless otherwise agreed, this quota includes 5 gigabytes for up to 10,000 files with a retention period of a maximum of 30 days. If the retention period of an uploaded file expires, it will be automatically deleted, and the storage space will be freed up. The size of an individual file is limited to a maximum of 500 megabytes.

Please note that we may temporarily suspend the ability to upload additional files if the allowed quota is exhausted. Before doing so, we will notify you of your depleted quota. You allow us to contact you for this purpose. In the case of a significant quota overrun, we reserve the right to promptly delete files.

Preview Thumbnails

We strive to enable the display of preview thumbnails for various file formats. However, due to the diversity of formats and their complexity, we cannot guarantee the successful generation of preview thumbnails.

We try to create a preview thumbnail for each supported format but terminate the generation after a maximum of 45 seconds.

The uploaded files are stored with us regardless of whether a preview thumbnail can be generated or not.

3. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service does not violate any applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including local, state, national, and international laws.

Should we determine that you are using the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service in a manner that harms Codebarista or other parties, we reserve the right to take actions, including revoking access to our products.

Permissible Content

Files uploaded to the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service must comply with applicable law. They must not violate copyright, privacy, competition law, and the rights of third parties.

The Codebarista Cloud Upload Service must not be used to publish, distribute, or otherwise make available malware, or other harmful or destructive components.

Contents that are offensive, obscene, racist, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or sexually discriminatory are not allowed.

Any form of content that does not meet these criteria may be blocked or removed without prior notice to maintain the integrity of the service.

Customer Data

You confirm that the data provided to us by you is accurate and complete. You will promptly inform us of any changes to the data you have provided.

4. Availability

We make every effort to ensure the availability of the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service and provide a seamless user experience.

Despite our best efforts, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service. Unforeseen circumstances, maintenance, or technical issues may occasionally occur, leading to temporary interruptions or even data loss.

However, we are committed to resolving any disruptions as quickly as possible and restoring the availability of the service.

5. Security

You are obligated to take appropriate security measures to prevent misuse, such as securely storing your API key and keeping your service up-to-date.

Contact us if your API key is lost, you notice unauthorized access, or you observe a security breach.

If we identify any misuse, we will notify you. You allow us to contact you for this purpose.

6. Operator's Rights

We reserve the right to exclude any files from storage on the server for any reason without explanation. It is at our discretion, but without obligation on our part, to verify the legality of the uploaded data.

In particular, we reserve the right to delete uploaded files that violate the terms of use, applicable law, or agreements with third parties. This includes, in particular, content that is offensive, obscene, racist, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or sexually discriminatory.

In the event of a violation of the terms of use or the identification of misuse that affects the integrity of the service, we reserve the right to temporarily block your API key and exclude you from further use.

In the case of repeated misconduct, we reserve the right to permanently exclude you from using the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service.

We will notify you of the blocking of your API key. You allow us to contact you for this purpose.

7. Privacy

The protection of your data is of utmost importance to us. Please read our privacy policy to understand how we handle your personal information.
