How does data processing work with the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service?

The Codebarista Cloud Upload Service runs on one or (depending on the load) multiple distributed servers accessible from the internet, offering a web interface that can be used by client applications. An Object Storage Service is used for storing and retrieving files, which is also hosted on one or more distributed servers. Communication between the client application and servers, as well as communication between the servers, is encrypted (HTTPS).

When is which personal data processed?

When using the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service and visiting our website, the following information is automatically sent to our server and stored in a log file:

  • IP address of the requesting computer,
  • Date and time of access,
  • Name and URL of the accessed page,
  • Website from which the access originated (Referrer URL),
  • Browser type, language settings, screen resolution, and possibly the operating system of your computer.

When creating a Codebarista Cloud Upload Service account (i.e., when you receive an API key), the following additional data is stored:

  • Contact email address
  • URL or designation of the application/website using the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service
  • Possibly additional contact details such as name, address, and phone number

When using the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service, the following data is stored:

  • Possibly thumbnails of the uploaded files,
  • Number and timestamp of file accesses.

  • Ensuring smooth operation of the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service and the website,
  • Evaluating system security and stability, as well as
  • For other administrative purposes.

Furthermore, we need this data to assert our rights and fulfill legal obligations. Specifically, we require your email address to inform you about special events, such as exceeding your storage quota.

Storage period

The data automatically collected during the use of the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service and the visit to our website will be deleted no later than two (2) years.

The data associated with the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service account will be stored until the account is deleted.

Uploaded files and thumbnails are typically deleted within 30 days at the latest. If a longer storage period has been agreed upon for the Codebarista Cloud Upload Service account, it will apply. If a longer storage period has been agreed upon for an uploaded file, it will apply.

What rights do you have?
